From May 26 to 31, 2025, a new edition of the Summer School on Responsible AI and Human Rights will take place in Montreal, Canada, organized by Mila – Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute in partnership with the Université de Montréal.
This summer school brings together an international community of professionals, activists, researchers, and students committed to a critical approach to the development and use of artificial intelligence—one that centers human rights, social justice, and the global impacts of automated technologies.
Fundación Vía Libre will be represented by Margarita Trovato, a lawyer specializing in human rights, with over ten years of experience in strategic litigation, research, and advocacy at both national and international levels. Her work focuses on digital rights, state surveillance, access to public information, and teaching at both secondary and university levels.
Over the course of an intensive week, the program will feature keynote lectures, hands-on workshops, collaborative projects, and interdisciplinary discussions on urgent issues such as algorithmic transparency, systemic bias, democratic regulation of AI, and the protection of fundamental rights.
