From June 23 to 27, the 20th Annual Internet Governance Forum (IGF) will take place in Norway. Organized under the auspices of the United Nations, the IGF brings together stakeholders from around the world to discuss and shape public policy around the present and future of the Internet. This year’s edition will be held at NOVA Spektrum in Lillestrøm and will feature a diverse agenda tackling the most pressing issues of the digital age.
From Vía Libre, on Wednesday, June 25 at 11:30 am (Norway time), we will take part in the session titled “Artificial Intelligence agents”, where our representative Luciana Benotti, a researcher specializing in natural language processing and artificial intelligence, will contribute to the discussion.
This session will focus on AI agents—systems capable of researching complex topics, making decisions, and carrying out tasks on behalf of users, independently. Far from science fiction, this technology is already here, with the potential to reshape fields such as education, healthcare, labor, and public services.
The roundtable will follow a 60-minute interactive format, ideal for high-impact conversations on the governance of agentic systems. Key topics include transparency, accountability, inclusivity, safeguards, and democratic oversight in the design and deployment of autonomous technologies. As these systems increasingly influence industries, economies, and societies, one urgent question remains: Are we prepared to govern AI agents responsibly?
The session will be hybrid. More info: https://igf2025.sched.com/event/2480M/ws-
