The intensive course “Responsible Evaluation of Machine Learning Systems,” taught by Luciana Ferrer, will take place from June 2 to 6 at FAMAF-UNC. The course is organized by Luciana Benotti, professor at FAMAF and head of the AI ethics team at Vía Libre.
Over five sessions, the course will explore key aspects of AI system evaluation, including data handling, performance metrics, statistical analysis, and probabilistic classification models. Special focus will be given to tools like proper scoring rules and expected cost, which are underused in machine learning literature but essential for accurate evaluation.
The Fundación Vía Libre team will also take part in the course as part of its ongoing training efforts, incorporating this knowledge into future educational programs on AI and education.
