17 CLMPST: Science and Values ​​in an Uncertain World

The XVII Congress of Logic, Methodology and Philosophy of Science and Technology (CLMPST) will take place for the first time in the southern hemisphere, from July 24 to 29, 2023 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Laura Alonso Alemany and Luciana Benotti from the Vía Libre Foundation’s AI ethics team will finalize the E.D.I.A. instrument on Tuesday, July 25. at the symposium ‘Ethics and Artificial Intelligence from fundamental issues to new challenges (EAI)’.

CLMPST aims to bring together researchers active in the field of Logic, Methodology, and Philosophy of Science and Technology. It began in 1960, and since then it has been held every four years in the capitals and/or in university centers. The last congresses were held in Prague (2019), Helsinki (2015), Nancy (2011) and Beijing (2007). In this edition of the Congress, the theme is: Science and values ​​in an uncertain world.

The symposium begins at 2:00 p.m. in room 14 of the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the University of Buenos Aires. The purpose of the symposium is: “to explore original theoretical and practical research on the design, development, presentation, testing and evaluation of approaches to implementations of AI frameworks that support trust in AI, including theories of cutting-edge, fundamentals, practical tools, and impactful case studies of the AI ​​ethical framework. implementations, supported by advanced AI techniques and interdisciplinary research, in particular, social sciences, law, and cognitive sciences.” Fostering interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approaches with the aim of making the ethical principles of AI operational in applications. Also promote good practices for the development of AI systems.
