From November 7 to 9, 2025, we’ll be at the 15th Mozilla Festival (MozFest) in Barcelona, Spain, which will feature workshops, discussions, and talks on technology, digital justice, and the ethics of artificial intelligence.

On this occasion, on November 8, Vía Libre will present the project “Community-based collection of linguistic resources for bias assessment in language technologies”, an initiative led by the Vía Libre AI team, which became part of the Mozilla Incubator program in October. We thank Mozilla for their continued trust in our work.

This project builds on the learnings and experiences from HESEIA and EDIA. Its main goal is to expand the technical capabilities of the EDIA platform, validate learning outcomes, and promote the creation of participatory datasets through collaboration with educators — while also helping to broaden the project’s user base through specific outreach actions.

During MozFest, Beatriz Busaniche together with Marcos Gómez will share insights from the HESEIA 2024 teacher training course developed in Córdoba, Argentina, as well as upcoming steps for this new phase.

From Fundación Vía Libre, we want to thank Mozilla for the opportunity to continue our work, for their ongoing trust in what we do, and especially Lisa Gutermuth, Mehan Jayasuriya, and Abeba Birhane for their guidance and wisdom.
