From October 22 to 24, a new edition of Ekoparty, Latin America’s largest hacker conference, will take place at the Buenos Aires Convention Center (CEC).
On October 23 at 3:30 p.m., Margarita Trovatto, member of Fundación Vía Libre and the Citizen Initiative for the Oversight of the Intelligence System (ICCSI), will take part in the panel “Cybersecurity vs. National Intelligence”, alongside Eduardo Ferreyra (ACIJ – Civil Association for Equality and Justice) and José Joel Peña Llañes (PhD, lawyer specializing in data protection).
The panel, organized by the space “A 1 bit de ir en cana” (literally, “1 bit away from getting busted”), aims to discuss current misconceptions surrounding state regulation of cybersecurity and cyber intelligence, and to explore the differences between the two.
Ekoparty brings together people passionate about cybersecurity to learn, grow, share knowledge, have fun, and connect with thousands of others who share the same enthusiasm. What began as a “conference by hackers, for hackers” in 2000 has become the most important gathering of its kind in the region.
