On September 24, Foro DemocracIA will take place, an event aimed at bringing together experts from the region and around the world to analyze the effects of artificial intelligence (AI) on democracies. Luciana Benotti from Vía Libre has been invited to the panel “Responsible Innovation: Towards Better Practices in AI Development.” This panel will discuss how to balance technological innovation with the protection of citizens’ rights. Representatives from the private sector, academia, and civil society will examine how to promote bias-free AI that serves diversity and social justice.
Luciana Benotti will join the panel alongside Paula Vargas (Meta), Claudia López (National Center for Artificial Intelligence -CENIA- of Chile), Paola Ricuarte (A+ Alliance for Inclusive Algorithms), and Harry Farmer (Ada Lovelace Institute). The panel will be moderated by Julia Pomares, from the Global Initiative for Digital Empowerment and author of the podcast Fantasmas en los algoritmos.
Additionally, various panels will take place during the event, which will run from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM at the Museum of Modern Art in Buenos Aires.
