On Thursday, October 8th starting at 6:00 PM, the in-person talk “What’s Happening to Democracy?” (¿Qué pasa con la democracia?) will take place, organized by Ornitorrinco and the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation. The event will be held at Santiago del Estero 1148, CABA.

During the discussion, speakers will explore the relationship between artificial intelligence and democracy by addressing key questions: Who controls these technologies? What interests drive their development? What tools does society have to intervene in decisions that affect a large part of our daily lives?

Enrique Chaparro will participate on behalf of Fundación Vía Libre, sharing the panel with Ana Slimovich—PhD in Social Sciences and CONICET researcher at the Gino Germani Research Institute (UBA)—and Tomás Pomar from the Argentine Computer Law Observatory (ODIA).

From these diverse perspectives, the discussion will focus on how these technologies impact information, privacy, political participation, and the quality of public debate, as well as the challenges posed by the growing concentration of power in the hands of major tech companies.

The event is free of charge, but prior registration is required at https://rosalux-ba.org/2026/09/30/que-pasa-con-la-democracia-en-la-era-de-la-ia/
