On Thursday, July 24, Beatriz Busaniche, president of Fundación Vía Libre, will be one of the speakers at the training series “Digital Governance: Toward a New Legislative Agenda,” organized by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP Uruguay), in co-organization with the Parliament of Uruguay and its School of Government. The event will take place at the Legislative Palace in Montevideo and is aimed at Uruguayan lawmakers.

Beatriz will speak during Session 6, titled “Regulating Artificial Intelligence and Digital Surveillance: Current Landscape in Latin America and International Standards,” scheduled for 2:00 p.m. In this closing session of the series, she will share the panel with Patricia Díaz (Datysoc), Gonzalo Sosa (Agesic), and Congressman Rodrigo Goñi, in a discussion focused on shaping a rights-based legislative agenda.

The series — which began on June 12 and will conclude on July 24 — aims to strengthen legislative capacities around key topics in the digital agenda, including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data protection, and platform governance. Over the course of six thematic sessions, experts from academia, technical fields, and civil society will share insights and proposals to promote a democratic, inclusive, and rights-centered digital transformation.
