From July 13 to 19, 2025, the 42nd International Conference on Machine Learning (ICML 2025) will take place at the Vancouver Convention Center in Vancouver, Canada.
ICML is one of the fastest-growing artificial intelligence conferences worldwide. Each year, it showcases and publishes cutting-edge research covering all aspects of machine learning, including applications in fields such as artificial intelligence, statistics, data science, computer vision, computational biology, speech recognition, and robotics. The conference brings together a diverse community of experts, ranging from academic and industry researchers to engineers, entrepreneurs, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows.
In this edition, Vía Libre will participate virtually in ICML 2025 through Luciana Benotti, who is part of the organizing committee as Social Chair. This role drives the creation of social spaces designed to foster connections among attendees. The mission of these activities is to provide opportunities for participants to meet new people, exchange valuable experiences, share knowledge, discuss career options, and explore interests beyond research presentations. Socials are in-person gatherings led by participants that focus on a variety of themes—from specific research topics and skills exchange to affinity group meetings and social or intellectual events aimed at building community in a relaxed setting.
Additionally, ICML offers mentoring sessions where experienced members from academia or industry provide career guidance and advice to early-career attendees. All these initiatives aim to promote greater diversity and inclusivity, helping to build a growing community united by the challenges and advances of machine learning.
